Dolla Dolla Bills Y'all

Our funds we have raised to date. Considering we just started, I am excited about this progress! Until you look at it in this format and then it becomes very anti-climatic ;) However, we will keep on trucking. We know in our heart of hearts we are meant to adopt this baby, so in keeping with the Field of Dreams motto: the Funds will Come!!!
Thanks for all of your love and support!

Garage Sale Success!

Haven't been on in a while, been super duper busy! But the good news is we start our Home Study next week. Yay!!! The bad news is, there is a loooooootttt to do before then.

David and I went on a trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley a few weeks ago, at the end of September. It was much needed and we had a great time! We came back ready to start fundraising and getting funding together for this adoption, especially because we know that after the home study is completed we will have another $3000+ fee to pay.

We were called when we were on vacation in Cali that our home study has been scheduled. So exciting! Here is the problem: we had planned on getting things together for a large multi-family garage sale mid-October. People have been donating all sorts of things to us, big and small. My home started to look like a house on Hoarders. I was able to get rid of most of it today at our garage sale, which went so well David is already planning on when we will have another one! If it were up to me we would never do this again LOL.

Early morning at the garage sale. The bounce house was inflated for less than 5 minutes before it was sold!
I worked three 12-hour shifts, spent all of Friday running around getting things organized and ready for the sale, spent all day Saturday loading and unloading items, haggling with people over literally 10 cents, and then reloading and unloading all the things that didn't sell. My back hurts and I have a sunburn. However,

We raised enough money to get us to the next step in the adoption process!!!!

Today was awful but it was also incredibly moving. So many people we have never even met gave us donations, prayers, and well wishes. I was overwhelmed at the end and to be honest, how well we did still has not sunk in. I had heard from other families looking for ways to raise money for adoption that garage sales were great, and I admit I was skeptical. But we went ahead anyway, knowing God can do amazing things. He definitely did today! We are amazed, blessed, and totally in the debt of all of our friends who so graciously helped us.

This doesn't even begin to show the huge amount of things we had at our garage sale today.
Thankfully, most of the big items sold and we almost tripled our goal of what we had wanted to fund-raise!!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to those who helped us today. Elizabeth, Louis, Leslee, Nick, Staci, Grant, Jessica, James, Amanda, Steven, Susan, Rachel, John, Renee, Chris, and anyone else I missed. Love you all and could NOT have done any of this without you!!!!!!

We start our home study this Wednesday. My house is a complete disaster from the garage sale prep. Plus, we sold Austin's bed so he is now sleeping on the floor. I work tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday. I am *kind of* freaking out at how this place is going to get in order by the time our coordinator comes. But, I must remember that things seem to fall into place when they need to. Also, we were told at our last adoption meeting that they will not be coming with a "white glove" trying to see how dirty our house is! Still, I want everything to be perfect. So the prayers this week will be for us to be able to get done what we need in order to be ready for our home study on Wednesday. :) Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts!
