Adoption Auction is up and running!

Hello friends!

Just wanted to let everyone know that our adoption auction started this morning and runs through Sunday 10/20 at midnight! This is our LAST, FINAL, NOMORE EVER fundraiser to get Emily home!!! I'm hoping and praying we get enough for even one of our plane tickets, since we will have to purchase them pretty much last minute next month right before we travel. And yes I'm still holding on to hopefully travel next month!

So hop on over to our Facebook page,, to bid on some completely awesome items. I will post some pictures of what is available on here. I am so completely humbled by the support of my friends and loved ones, people to took time out of their day to let the creative juices flow in order to make spectacular things just for our Emily Mei <3 I truly hope she feels the love all the way in China!

We will be updating as soon as we hear more on our travel dates. Yay!!!!

Such a FANTASTIC weekend!!

This has been a whirlwind of a 3 day weekend. And it's not over yet!

This past week started out fantastic as well. I contacted our Immigration Services Officer assigned to our case to see if our I-800 had been received... She promptly told me that it had already been approved by her the week prior! She ROCKS!!! She had then forwarded it on to the National Visa Center, who I emailed, and they responded the next day stating our paperwork had been approved and was now on route to the Chinese Consulate! Woohoo!! I LOVE this kind of progress!

So now on this paperchase we are waiting for our agency to send our latest batch of papers to Beijing, who will issue us "Article 5" serving as confirmation that the child will be allowed to move to the US. A few weeks after Article 5 is picked up, we receive our travel invitations to get our girl!! Right now we are looking potentially at traveling around Thanksgiving, which would be a complete and total blessing of course!

Saturday was our adoption shower, and it was a blast :) Pictures to come for sure, but let's just say my mom and sister did not disappoint in providing great Asian food and decorations! We had so many great family and friends come out to celebrate sweet Emily Mei, it was so heartwarming <3 and super fun!

Sunday we hosted our photography fundraising day, and thanks to the amazing Shelby Hock and Ashley from Shock Photography it turned out to be fantastic! We had every spot filled, met some absolutely wonderful families (some of which we might actually see when we are in China!) and were able to raise enough money for almost all of Emily's plane ticket home! :D The weather was absolutely perfect with clear blue skies and a rare Florida fall breeze. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Tomorrow marks another adoption fundraiser, a huge community consignment sale where I have a table filled with all of my tutus to hopefully sell to cover some of the upcoming travel expenses. I'm exhausted but so pumped about possibly traveling to pick up our daughter next month!!! The planning is winding down and the actual "doing" part is starting. This is crazy! Part of me is super excited and the other part has freak-out ohmygoodnesswhatarewedoing moments :) It depends on the day but it is mostly 60/40 ;)

So keep us in your prayers as we are gearing up to the final and hardest part of pregnancy: the delivery! Woop woop!!!
